The whole point of MTD Go: Making Tax Digital is our job, not yours. You never touch HMRC systems or bookkeeping software — you simply send us your records and we handle registration, record-keeping and every filing.
What to send us each quarter
Send whatever shows your money in and money out for the quarter. Don't worry about formatting or sorting it — that's what we're for.
- Bank statements for your business or rental account (PDF or CSV downloads from your online banking are perfect).
- Income records — rent received, sales invoices, statements from letting agents or platforms you sell through.
- Expense receipts and bills — repairs, insurance, mortgage interest statements, mileage notes, anything you've spent on the business or property.
- Anything you're unsure about — if in doubt, send it. We'd rather see too much than too little.
How to send it
Email it
Attach files, photos or downloads to an email — straight to support@mtd-go.co.uk.
Photograph it
Paper receipts? Snap them on your phone and send the photos. Blurry-but-readable is fine.
Upload to Dropbox
Ask us for a secure Dropbox upload link — no account needed. Or share your own Dropbox or Drive folder with us.
Large files or lots of documents? Email us and we'll send you a secure Dropbox upload link — you don't need a Dropbox account, just click and drop your files in.
When to send it
Your quarterly filings for 2026/27 are due 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May. We'll email you a reminder after each quarter ends asking for your records — ideally send them within two weeks of the quarter ending so we have plenty of time to prepare and file.
You don't need to track any of these dates yourself: we chase you, not the other way round. The full calendar is in our MTD deadlines guide.
What happens after you hit send
- We confirm we've received everything — and tell you if anything's missing.
- We do the bookkeeping and prepare your quarterly figures in HMRC-recognised software.
- A qualified accountant reviews your figures before anything is submitted.
- We file with HMRC and email you confirmation, every quarter, every time.
Quick questions
Do I need to use QuickBooks or any software?
No. We run HMRC-recognised software on our side — that's included in your plan. You never need to log into anything.
My records are a bit of a mess. Is that a problem?
Not at all — messy is normal. Send what you have and we'll sort, categorise and chase anything missing. That's the service.
What if I forget to send something?
We'll remind you before every deadline, and if something looks missing from your records we'll ask. If a receipt turns up late, send it on — we can usually include it in the next filing.
Is emailing my records safe?
For anything sensitive, ask us for a secure Dropbox upload link instead of attaching it to an email — you don't need a Dropbox account to use it. We treat all client records confidentially in line with our Privacy Policy.
Got this quarter's records ready?
Send them over and consider it handled — a real person will confirm receipt.
